Wine lovers, its time to cellar-brate! On Friday December 3, you can join fellow sniffers and sippers and be the first to taste the newest wines from the nation’s best winemakers, an honour usually reserved for industry honchos, at the season’s first wine show.
Thanks to the RNA’s Royal Queensland Wine Show, Australia’s 2015 vintages can be experienced by the general public at the exclusive RQWS Grape Grazing by Night.
More than 2,000 wines have been sniffed, swirled and tasted by a panel of experts in every style (including Tony Harper from local Craft) to determine the best of the new vintage, and they’ll all be on show at the event. So we highly suggest wiping Saturday’s schedule in favour of a sleep in.
With Chief Judge and award-winning winemaker, PJ Charteris, overseeing the judging panel as they taste their way through 2186 entries from some of Australia’s top wine regions, the show gives Australian wineries exposure and helps promote the nation’s diverse growing regions, passionate winemakers and their outstanding wines.
The good people of the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show will also be showcasing their award winning cheese, lamb and beef for your enjoyment, with canapés and wine combining under the stars for an exquisite evening.
With special group discount rates being offered on the $80 tickets, it’s time to gather your fellow wine, cheese and meat lovers and head to the RQWS website to get some so you don’t drop the cork and miss out.
Love a good merlot, grenache or pinot gris and want the chance to win two tickets to the event? Head over to our Facebook page and tag your wine drinking buddy on the top post for your chance to win two tickets!
