With everything from new juice bars to food trucks to fine dining restaurants popping up in Brisbane each week, it can be hard to keep up. But stick with us and we’ll give you the scoop on the best new foodie spots to add to your must-try list (we’ve all got one)!
Lick! Ice Cream | Graceville
Summer just got a whole lot sweeter with the opening of Lick! Ice Cream’s flagship store! Although 18 flavours of creamy, natural, locally made ice cream are reason enough to visit the cosy new café, desserts like made-to-order ice cream sandwiches and the doffle, a hot doughnut/waffle hybrid smothered in ice cream and salted butterscotch sauce will have you racing in right away. Head in this weekend, September 7 and 8, for 2-for-1 scoops to celebrate.
The Bleachers | West End
When one of Brisbane’s best burger joints joins forces with a talented chef like Ben Devlin, you know you can expect good things. Ben’s Burgers have taken the burger menu we know and love and put it into The Bleachers in West End, a simple but welcoming venue with an outdoor area that’s reminiscent of a school yard. You’ll find a few of Ben’s classic buns on the menu, along with some seasonal eats like beef ribs and fried chicken and a soft-serve machine that promises adventurous future creations.
Saccharomyces Beer Garden | South Brisbane
Sack are oh my a… what? Named after a strain of the yeast that turns regular ingredients into some of our favourite things (beer, wine and bread) SBC is a new German beer hall inspired bar and café in Fish Lane. Although no liquor license prevents the café/bar from serving brews until at least mid-November, don’t let that stop you heading in for the all day breakfast menu and tasty bar bites.
Darling & Co | Paddington
Lover of good food and even better wine? Darling & Co has transformed Paddington’s Iceworks, opening the doors on a bright and airy restaurant, bar and function venue. Local produce is transformed into dishes like crisp ricotta stuffed zucchini flowers and spicy roast spatchcock, all matched with a drinks menu of craft beers, boutique wines and clever cocktails. Stop by for breakfast, lunch or dinner and find out why they are the new darling of Paddington.
